Panther Alumni Wins Teaching Award
Kimberly Christian Johnson, a 1990 Wellborn graduate, won the 2024 National Education Association Member Benefits Award for Teaching Excellence. This prestigious award names Mrs. Johnson the #1 Teacher in the United States of America! She won this award over 3 million other educators. Other accolades include the 2024 Horace Mann Award for Teaching Excellence and an invitation from First Lady Jill Biden to help decorate the White House this past Christmas. Mrs. Johnson was the 2022 Alabama Teacher of the Year. She teaches at Auburn Junior High School.
